ANKARA (AA) - Turkiye's benchmark stock index Borsa Istanbul opened at 2,463.94 points on Thursday, rising 33.39 points, or 1.37%, from the previous close.
At Friday's close, the last transaction day before going on a break due to the Eid al-Fitr holiday, the BIST 100 index was slightly up by 0.09% to 2,494.37 points, with a daily trading volume of 34.9 billion Turkish liras ($2.4 billion).
The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate dropped to 14.8170 as of 9.54 a.m. local time (0654GMT), versus 14.8630 at the previous close.
The euro/lira exchange rate rose to 15.7051 versus 15.6550, while a British pound traded for 18.5785 liras, down from 18.7000.
Brent crude oil was sold for around $110.77 per barrel as of 9.53 a.m. local time, while the price of one ounce of gold was $1,898.
