ISTANBUL (AA) - Turkiye's benchmark stock index ended Thursday at 2,176.20 points, down 0.32% from the previous close.
Starting the day at 2,184.77 points, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index lost 6.9 points from Friday's close of 2,183.10 points.
The index's lowest value during the day was 2,171.51 points, while its daily high was 2,199.16.
The total market value of the BIST 100 was around 1.76 trillion Turkish liras ($119.4 billion) by market close, with a daily trading volume of 33.1 billion Turkish liras ($2.22 billion).
During the fourth transaction day of the week, 36 stocks on the index rose, 58 fell, and 16 were unchanged compared to the previous close.
The highest trading volumes were posted by iron/steel producer Kardemir, flag carrier Turkish Airlines, and Eregli, another steel manufacturer.
Bus producer Karsan was the best performer, with its shares up 4.9%, while stocks of real investment trust Emlak GYO Holding suffered the biggest drop of 3.42%.
The price of an ounce of gold was $1,964, while that of Brent crude oil was around $119 per barrel as of 6.45 p.m. local time (1545GMT).
