ISTANBUL (AA) – Türkiye's benchmark stock index ended Monday at 5,391.91 points, up 3.41%, to hit a record high close.
Starting the day at 5,270.61 points, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index gained 177.62 points from the last week's close of 5,214.29.
The index's lowest value during the day was 5,267.74, while its daily high was 5,403.98.
The total market value of the BIST 100 was around 4.37 trillion Turkish liras ($234.7 billion) by market close, with a daily trading volume of 137 billion Turkish liras ($7.36 billion).
During the day, 75 stocks on the index rose and 23 fell compared to the previous close.
The price of an ounce of gold was $1,799.55, while Brent crude oil sold at around $79.71 per barrel as of 6.45 p.m. local time (1545GMT).
