ISTANBUL (AA) – Turkiye’s benchmark stock index was up 1.81% to end Wednesday at 2,418.10 points.
Borsa Istanbul’s BIST 100 index earned 43.1 points from the previous close of 2,375 points.
The index’s lowest value during the day was 2,383.94 points, while its daily high was 2,423.83 points.
The total market value of the BIST 100 was around 1.96 trillion Turkish liras ($122 billion) by market close, with a daily trading volume of 34 billion Turkish liras ($2.08 billion).
During the third transaction day of the week, 76 stocks on the index rose, 20 fell, and four were unchanged compared to the previous close.
Major appliances producer Arcelik was the best performer of the day with its shares up 9.98%, while real investment trust Nurol GMYO saw the biggest drop, losing 9.46%.
The price of an ounce of gold was $1,847.76, while Brent crude oil sold at around $110.6 per barrel as of 6.28 p.m. local time (1528GMT).
