ANKARA (AA) – Turkiye's benchmark stock index ended Friday at 2,053.85 points, up 0.58% from the previous close.
Starting the day at 2,046.22 points, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index rose 11.84 points from Thursday's close of 2,042.01 points.
The index's lowest value during the day was 2,042.94 points, while its daily high was 2,067.69.
The total market value of the BIST 100 was around 1.6 trillion Turkish liras ($112 billion) by market close, with a daily trading volume of more than 37 billion Turkish liras ($2.5 billion).
During the last transaction day of the week, 67 stocks on the index rose, 29 fell, and four remained unchanged compared to Thursday's close.
The highest trading volumes were posted by iron and steel producers Kardemir and Eregli, and glassmaker Sise Cam.
Conglomerate Alarko Holding performed was the best performer of the day with its shares up 5.85%, while real estate investment firm Torunlar GMYO saw the biggest drop – 4.29%.
The price of one ounce of gold was $1,991.00 by market close, down from 1,998.30 at the previous close, according to data from Borsa Istanbul's Precious Metals and Diamond Markets.
The price of Brent crude oil was around $110.90 per barrel with a 1.44% gain as of 6.23 p.m. local time (1523GMT).
