ISTANBUL (AA) – Türkiye's benchmark stock index opened at 2,417.84 points on Tuesday, up 0.49%, or 11.86 points, from the previous close.
Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index dropped by 1.55% to 2,405.98 points at Monday's close, with a daily trading volume of 27 billion Turkish liras (approximately $1.6 billion).
The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate rose to 16.8541 as of 09.55 a.m. local time (0655GMT) from 16.8310 at the previous close.
The euro/Turkish lira exchange rate increased to 17.5825 from 17.5630, while a British pound traded for 20.4120 Turkish liras, down from 20.4680 at the previous close.
Brent crude oil was selling for around $113.06 per barrel, while the price of an ounce of gold was $1,809.7.
