ANKARA (AA) - Türkiye's benchmark stock index opened at 3,465.10 points on Friday, up 0.81%, or 27.69 points, from the previous close.
On Thursday's close, BIST 100 index ended with gains, hitting another all-time high of 3,437.41 points.
The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate rose slightly to 18.2421 as of 10.12 a.m. local time (0712GMT), versus 18.2350 at the previous close.
The euro/Turkish lira exchange rate went up to 18.4323 from 18.1710, while a British pound traded for 21.2106 Turkish liras, up from 20.9910.
Brent crude oil was selling for around $89.59 per barrel.
Analysts said global stock markets followed a positive course with the European Central Bank's 75-basis-point increase in interest rates on Thursday.
The US Federal Reserve is also expected to raise interest rates by 75 basis points with an 82% probability.
