BIST 100 index gains around 64 points in opening session

ISTANBUL (AA) –​​​​​​​ Türkiye's benchmark stock index opened the week at 3,585.63 points on Monday, up 1.82%, or 64.24 points, from the previous close.

Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index was up 2.44% to end the last week at a record high close of 3,521.38 points with a daily trading volume of 100 billion Turkish liras ($5.5 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate dropped to 18.2320 as of 10.12 a.m. local time (0712GMT), versus 18.2410 at the previous close.

The euro/Turkish lira exchange rate increased to 18.5560 from 18.3120, while a British pound traded for 21.3130 Turkish liras, up from 21.1770.

Brent crude oil was selling for around $92.47 per barrel, while the price of an ounce of gold was at $1,731.15.
