Türkiye's embassy in Brunei's capital, Bandar Seri Begawan, has launched a Turkish language course for officials of the Brunei Defense Ministry.
The inaugural session of the language course has been conducted in collaboration with the Yunus Emre Institute, Türkiye’s cultural institute, according to the embassy.
Turkish Ambassador Hamit Ersoy highlighted the increasing interest in Turkish language courses in the country and the growing success of these courses during his remarks at the event.
"This indicates the growing interest of the people in learning and understanding more about Türkiye and its rich historical and cultural heritage. As the first session organized in collaboration with the Brunei Defense Ministry, it marks a significant milestone for our embassy as well," Ersoy added.
He also noted that such language courses serves as a stepping stone for further education and cultural exchange between the two countries.
The Turkish language course is being voluntarily taught by the Yunus Emre Institute's Coordinator for Brunei, Lale Ersoy, making the Brunei Defense Ministry the 10th institution in Brunei to offer Turkish language courses.
