Home sales in Türkiye plunged 17.8% at an annualized pace in January, according to data released on Friday.
A total of 80,308 residential properties changed hands last month versus 138,577 in December 2023, TurkStat said.
Housing sales to foreign buyers dove 50.5% from last year to 2,061 units this January.
The Mediterranean resort city of Antalya had the lion's share of sales to foreign buyers with 747 units.
Istanbul, Türkiye's most populous city, followed with 710 properties, while the southern province of Mersin ranked third with 211.
Among foreign nationals, Russians bought the most houses – 555 units – followed by Iranians with 208, Ukrainians with 127, and Iraqis and Kazakhs with 99 each.
