ISTANBUL (AA) - House sales in Türkiye surged 63.6% year-on-year in November, the country’s statistical bureau TurkStat said on Wednesday.
A total of 153,014 houses were sold in November, though this figure was down from 165,138 in October.
Istanbul, Türkiye’s most populous city, had the highest number of house sales last month with 26,320 units, followed by Ankara with 14,916 and the southwestern province of Izmir with 8,583 units sold.
Foreign nationals bought 2,151 houses in November, down 8.2% on an annual basis.
Russians were at the top of the list of foreign house buyers in Türkiye, purchasing 421 properties, followed by Iranians with 200, and Ukrainians with 160.
