ISTANBUL (AA) - Türkiye's industrial production increased by 1.2% year-on-year in January, the country's statistical office announced on Monday.
Ten sub-items posted increase, while 3 sub-indexes saw falls in the month on a yearly basis, according to the Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat).
Energy index increased by 6.3%, manufacturing index grew by 1.2% and electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply index rose by 5% in January 2024.
Meanwhile, mining and quarrying index fell 0.7%, non-durable consumer goods index declined 1.4% and medium-high technology index decreased 3.8% annually.
On a monthly basis, the industrial production dropped by 2.3%.
High-technology index declined by 30.7%, capital goods index fell by 13.1%, and manufacturing index dropped by 3% in January, on a monthly basis.
On the other hand, the mining and quarrying index saw a monthly rise of 7.5%, durable consumer goods index 2.9% and energy index 1.3% in January.
