ANKARA (AA) – Türkiye's unemployment rate reached 10.1% in September, up from August's revised figure of 9.8%, according to the country's statistical authority on Thursday.
The number of jobless people – aged 15 and over – rose by 120,000 from a month ago to nearly 3.5 million in September, the Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat) said in a statement.
The unemployment rate was 8.8% for men and 12.8% for women in the month.
Some 30.9 million were employed as of September, a decline of 54,000 from August, while the employment rate decreased 0.1 percentage point to 47.6%.
The labor force grew by 67,000 to 34.4 million in the same period and the labor force participation rate remained unchanged at 52.9%.
