ISTANBUL (AA) - Turkish modular building manufacturer Karmod has completed the installation of 40 container dormitory units at a factory in Georgian city of Rustavi, a company statement said on Wednesday.
The dormitories are intended for use by shift engineers at an industrial facility producing chemical and mineral fertilizers.
Karmod's Container Sales Manager, Ozay Kemal Karakucuk, said the dormitory units were delivered fully equipped and ready for use.
"We completed the installation of 40 container dormitory units as part of the project. We also supplied furnishings such as bed bases, mattresses, wardrobes, tables, and air conditioning units, all shipped from Turkiye," Karakucuk said.
The dormitories will accommodate supervisors and engineers working at the facility, which employs 2,000 people.
Karakucuk emphasized that Karmod’s container structures are designed for ergonomic use and durability.
"In addition to construction site projects, we offer building solutions for factory production facilities. Our container dormitories provide a practical and long-lasting solution for factories operating on shift systems," he said.
Highlighting the product features, Karakucuk said: "Our containers stand out for their high safety standards, featuring a special steel chassis and post system manufactured with a seamless production technology. The walls and roofs have advanced insulation, ensuring optimal climate control for year-round comfort. They are manufactured quickly and can be installed rapidly on-site, providing both comfortable living spaces and energy savings for businesses."
The dormitories were manufactured using Karmod's next-generation flatpack container model. Each unit, measuring 4x6 meters, was transported by road to the project site in Georgia.
Installation was overseen by Karmod’s supervisor teams. Each dormitory unit is designed to accommodate two people and includes in-room toilet and shower facilities.
