ISTANBUL (AA) - Türkiye's National Defense Minister Yasar Guler on Wednesday visited Serbia to hold high-level talks.
Guler was received by Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic, the Turkish National Defense Ministry said on X, adding that he conveyed to him greetings from President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
Guler also met his Serbian counterpart Milos Vucevic and both ministers presided over a meeting between their respective delegations.
The minister emphasized that Türkiye has strong historical, cultural, humanitarian ties and excellent relations with Serbia.
He stressed the support to Balkans for peace, stability, territorial integrity, and integration into international organizations, and Serbia's goal of joining the European Union.
The only way to establish lasting peace and stability in the region is through dialogue, Guler said, expressing Türkiye's commitment to continue doing its part.
Taking over the Kosovo Force (KFOR) command, Türkiye will continue to prioritize stability, security, and public order in a neutral manner, he added.
He shared Türkiye's readiness to enhance bilateral cooperation in different fields, including the defense industry.
The Turkish minister also expressed his satisfaction with the support provided in the fight against Fetullah Terrorist Organization (FETO), the group behind the 2016 defeated coup in Türkiye.
