ISTANBUL (AA) - Türkiye’s Toprak Razgatlioglu claimed a win in the first race of the Superbike World Championship in England on Saturday.
"Starting from third on the grid, Razgatlioglu was able to claim his first full-length race win of the 2022 season while Kawasaki claimed their 500th WorldSBK podium," Superbike World Championship said in a statement.
Kawasaki Racing Team WorldSBK's British riders Jonathan Rea came second, while Alex Lowes finished third at Donington Park, England.
The 25-year-old Turkish rider's victory gave him the 20th of his career and his 64th podium finish in the Superbike World Championship.
Rea, 35, took 20 points out of Alvaro Bautista’s lead with the gap now only 16 points, with Razgatlioglu 54 points back in the Championship standings.
