Turkiye's stocks down at Friday's open

BIST 100 index loses over 12 points from previous close

ISTANBUL (AA) – Turkiye's benchmark stock index opened at 2,453.69 points on Friday, decreasing 12.57 points, or 0.51%, from the previous close.

Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index jumped 1.47% to 2,466.26 points on Thursday, with a daily trading volume of 36.4 billion Turkish liras ($2.5 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate fell to 14.8338 as of 10.00 a.m. local time (0700GMT), versus 14.8610 at the previous close.

The euro/lira exchange rate dropped to 15.6075 versus 15.6750, while a British pound traded for 18.2730 Turkish liras, down from 18.4210.

Brent crude oil was sold for around $111.66 per barrel as of 10 a.m. local time, while the price of one ounce of gold was $1,873.72
