ISTANBUL (AA) - United Arab Emirates President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan on Tuesday arrived in South Korea’s capital Seoul on a two-day state visit.
He and his South Korean counterpart President Yoon Suk-yeol will have summit-level talks and the two sides are expected to discuss expanding cooperation in energy, defense and other areas.
This marks the first state visit to the East Asian country by a UAE president.
On day one of the trip, some 200 government officials and business leaders gathered in the South Korean capital to discuss bilateral trade and cooperation, Seoul-based Yonhap News Agency reported.
Yoon paid a state visit to the Gulf nation last year in January, in first such trip by a South Korean president.
The two sides established diplomatic relations in 1980 and the bilateral trade volume reached $20.8 billion last year.
