ISTANBUL (AA) - The UCI Nirvana Gran Fondo World Series cycling event is set to kick off in Antalya on Friday, attracting 880 cyclists from 35 countries.
The UCI Nirvana Gran Fondo World Series in southwestern resort city of Antalya, now in its fourth edition, is organized with the main sponsorship of Nirvana Hotels.
The event also receives substantial support from the Republic of Türkiye Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the Türkiye Tourism Promotion and Development Agency, the Ministry of Youth and Sports, and the Turkish Bicycle Federation.
The competition, which is one of the mandatory preliminary stages to participate in the UCI Gran Fondo World Championship and distinguishes itself from other Gran Fondo races with this feature, includes 98 kilometers long (60-mile), 66 kilometers short, 20 kilometers (12-mile) time trial and 66 kilometers (41-mile) para-cycling courses.
The three-day event will conclude on Sunday.
