BELGRADE, Serbia (AA) - Serbia secured a spot in League B late Tuesday in the UEFA Nations League.
The country advanced with a 4-1 home win against Lithuania in Group 4 of League C.
Serbia is now first in the group with 14 points, while Romania has 12, Montenegro has 7 and Lithuania has none.
Following a goalless first half, Serbia established a 2-0 lead when an own goal by Lithuania’s Arturas Zulpa in the 51st minute was followed with a header by Serbia’s Aleksandar Mitrovic.
Lithuania came back with a goal by Deimantas Petravicius in the 64th minute.
But Aleksandar Prijovic headed in Serbia’s third goal followed by one from Adem Ljajic in the 74th minute.
After tonight's loss, Lithuania is now relegated to League D, as they have no points in the league.
The game was followed by a small number of fans at Partizan stadium due to the cold and rainy weather.
