Champions League's qualifier between AEK Athens and Dinamo Zagreb on Tuesday was postponed after a football fan was stabbed to death in a brawl.
The Greek police confirmed in a statement that a person was stabbed to death and eight others were injured during a brutal fight between AEK and Dinamo Zagreb fans in Nea Filadelfia, an Athens suburb late Monday.
Fans of the two teams threw flames, objects or stones at each other. They also used bats to attack.
Police arrested 98 people involved in the overnight fight.
In a statement, Dinamo Zagreb "strongly condemned" the riot in Athens.
The Champions League first leg between AEK and Dinamo Zagreb was postponed by UEFA, the Croatian club confirmed. The second leg of this tie was originally scheduled for Aug. 15 in Zagreb.
Either AEK or Dinamo Zagreb will face Belgium's Royal Antwerp in the Champions League playoff stage.
