ANKARA (AA) - A UK court Wednesday sentenced Dean Saunders, a retired footballer from Wales, to 10-week imprisonment for rejecting breath test in traffic.
According to the British media, 55-year-old Saunders was stopped by police officers on suspicion of drink-driving in the U.K. city Chester, near Liverpool, in May.
British police arrested him for refusing the breath test.
The Chester Magistrates' Court also banned Saunders from driving for 30 months and fined him £620 ($757).
In his career, Saunders played for many English clubs such as Liverpool, Aston Villa, Derby County, Nottingham Forest and Sheffield United, Portuguese powerhouse Benfica and Turkey's Galatasaray.
The Welsh striker retired in 2001.
