LONDON (AA) - Britain's Princess Anne has sustained minor injuries and concussion following an incident, Buckingham Palace said Monday.
In a statement, the palace said that Anne, the princess royal had been admitted to hospital following an incident on her estate in Gloucestershire, South West England on Sunday evening.
"Her Royal Highness remains in Southmead Hospital, Bristol, as a precautionary measure for observation and is expected to make a full and swift recovery," added the statement.
The cause of the injury is unconfirmed, but media reports cited possible impact from a horse's head or legs.
It noted that King Charles III has been kept informed and joins the whole royal family in sending his "fondest love and well-wishes" to the princess for a speedy recovery.
Princess Anne, 73, is the second child and only daughter of late Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip.
According to reports, she had been expected to start a visit to Canada at the end of this week.
