ISTANBUL (AA) - Ukraine early Tuesday claimed that it had downed 10 Russian drones amid air attacks across various regions of the war-torn country.

A statement by the Ukrainian Air Force on Telegram claimed that Russia launched 17 attack drones from the directions of Kursk and Primorsko-Akhtarsk, as well as six S-300 anti-aircraft guided missiles which it said were heading towards the Donetsk and Kherson regions.

In combat, “10 attack UAVs (unmanned aerial vehicles) were destroyed in various regions of Ukraine,” the statement said.

It added that fighter jets, anti-aircraft missile units, and mobile fire groups of Ukraine’s air and defense forces were involved in repelling the attack.

Russian officials have not yet commented on the claim, and independent verification of Ukraine’s claim is difficult due to the ongoing war.
