ISTANBUL (AA) — Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed two bills into law on Thursday, extending martial law and general mobilization in the country for an additional three months.

The bills' status were updated on the online portal of the Verkhovna Rada, Ukraine's parliament, which said they were returned with Zelenskyy's signature.

Lawmakers had adopted both bills a day earlier, with 329 votes in favor of extending martial, while 322 were cast supporting the extension of general mobilization, both until Feb. 14.

Martial law was first declared by Zelenskyy immediately after the start of the Russia-Ukraine war on Feb. 24, 2022, and has been extended several times since then.
