BELGRADE, Serbia (AA) – Ukraine on Saturday registered an all-time high daily coronavirus death toll with 793 people dying in the last 24 hours.
With the new fatalities, Ukraine's death toll hit 75,346, the country's Health Ministry said in a statement, adding that 25,063 more people tested positive for COVID-19, pushing the overall count to over 3 million.
Since Sept. 23, Ukraine has moved from the "green" to the "yellow" quarantine zone due to deterioration in the pandemic situation, while a "red level" alert was announced in seven regions.
On Sept. 30, the authorities introduced mandatory vaccination for teachers, employees of central executive authorities, ministries, and their structural units, and local state administrations.
Since December 2019, the pandemic has claimed more than 5.02 million lives in 192 countries and regions, with over 248.2 million cases reported worldwide, according to the US' Johns Hopkins University.
