Ukraine says 6 killed, 2 injured by Russian shelling in Kherson region

5 residential buildings also damaged in Stanislav village, says head of Ukrainian Presidential Office

ISTANBUL (AA) – Ukraine said on Sunday that six people were killed and two others injured due to Russian shelling in the southern Kherson region.

“The enemy continues to bombard the Kherson region. The Russians hit the village of Stanislav with anti-aircraft guns,” Andriy Yermak, the head of the Ukrainian Presidential Office, said on Telegram.

Two people died by the shelling in Stanislav, while four, including a woman and a child, died in Shyroka Balka, Yermak said, adding that five residential buildings were also damaged in Stanislav.

Russia has not yet commented on the shelling.

The ongoing Russia-Ukraine war, which started in February 2022, has killed over 9,300 civilians and wounded more than 16,600, according to the latest UN figures.
