KYIV (AA) – The commander of the Ukrainian Ground Forces Oleksandr Syrskyi on Sunday claimed that the country’s security forces liberated the village of Klishchiivka on the southern flank of Bakhmut in the Donetsk region.
He stated on Telegram that the Ukrainian army has achieved success in the direction of Bakhmut: "Klishchiivka is cleared of Russians and liberated by the forces of the 80th separate Airborne Assault Brigade, the 5th separate assault brigade, and the Joint Assault Brigade of the National Police of Ukraine ‘rage’.”
“Glory to the soldiers of Ukraine,” he added.
Andriy Yermak, the head of the Presidential Office of Ukraine, lauded the military, saying: "I thank the soldiers for liberating the territory of Ukraine from occupation."
Earlier on Friday, the Ukrainian General Staff announced that the village of Andriyivka in the Donetsk region had been liberated from the Russian forces.
