ISTANBUL (AA) – Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with a bipartisan delegation from the US Senate in Washington on Friday to discuss different issues, with a focus on continued military assistance, security guarantees, and efforts to end the conflict with Russia.
Following his meeting, Zelenskyy said in a statement on X that the issues discussed included relevant legislative initiatives and his upcoming meeting with US President Donald Trump.
He emphasized the need for sustained US support, calling Washington a “strategic partner and friend.”
“We are grateful for the unwavering bicameral and bipartisan support for Ukraine throughout all three years of Russia’s full-scale aggression,” he said.
Trump is scheduled to meet with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, and they are expected to sign an agreement on Ukraine's rare earth metals.
