Undefeated UEFA Europa League leaders Lazio of Italian Serie A will take on Dutch powerhouse Ajax in a league phase week 6 game on Thursday.
After a surprising 0-0 draw with Ludogorets last week, Lazio will aim to cement their top spot with 13 points against the Dutch club at their home, Amsterdam’s Johan Cruijff Arena.
"If we keep working as we have been, we'll win a lot more games," said Lazio's French midfielder Matteo Guendouzi after the Ludogorets faceoff.
Ajax, in the number five spot with 10 points, last week suffered a 2-0 defeat to Spain’s Real Sociedad.
"We had some chances," said head coach Francesco Farioli after his team aimed the goal post twice against Sociedad. "If you don't take them, it will cost you dearly against players of this level."
