HATAY, Turkey (AA) - At least 125 undocumented migrants have been held across Turkey, according to a security source Thursday.

Turkish security personnel spotted 27 people who had crossed into Turkey from Syria during a routine check near the border along southeastern Hatay province.

All of them were Syrians, who were later transferred to migration management authorities.

Later in the day, 23 Syrians, including women and children were held when a van in which they were traveling was stopped by security forces on the Kirikhan-Kumlu motorway in Hatay.

Syrian driver and another suspect accompanying him were arrested.

Separately, in northwestern Edirne province, 75 more undocumented migrants were held.

Among them were people from Syria, Palestine, Afghanistan, Morocco, Pakistan and Iran, who were trying to cross into Greece and Bulgaria, a security source, who spoke on condition of anonymity due to restrictions on talking to the media, said.
