UPDATES WITH NEW STATEMENT FROM POLICE IDENTIFYING SUSPECT

BERLIN (AA) - One person was killed and six others were injured in a knife attack in northern Hamburg city on Friday, according to police.
Hamburg police identified the perpetrator, who was arrested after the incident, as a 26-years old foreigner, who was born in the United Arab Emirates.
The motive for the attack was not immediately clear, and the police said that they were investigating in all directions.
The man randomly attacked several customers in a supermarket in the city's Barmbek district, and was overpowered by pedestrians while trying to run away from the scene.
He was later arrested by officers who arrived at the scene.
Police said a 50-year-old woman, and four men aged between 19 and 64 suffered injuries in the attack.
A 35-year-old man was also injured while trying to stop the perpetrator.
