BEIRUT (AA) – At least four people were wounded early Monday in an Israeli airstrike in southern Lebanon, the Lebanese Health Ministry said.
The attack targeted the town of Hanine, the ministry added in a statement.
The state-run National News Agency said the town came under two Israeli strikes shortly after midnight.
Artillery shelling was also reported in the town of Kfarkela, but no injuries were reported.
Lebanese group Hezbollah, for its part, said its fighters had fired rockets at the Ma'ayan Baruch site in northern Israel, resulting in a direct hit.
Tensions have spiked along Lebanon's border with Israel amid cross-border attacks between Hezbollah and Israeli forces as Tel Aviv pressed ahead with a brutal onslaught on the Gaza Strip, which has killed nearly 41,000 victims since Oct. 7 following an attack by the Palestinian resistance group, Hamas.
