BUDAPEST, Hungary (AA) - At least five people were killed when a train carrying 22 passengers crashed into a minibus at a level crossing in southern Hungary, authorities said on Tuesday.
Pal Gyorfi, spokesman for the National Ambulance Service, told Hungarian state news agency MTI that 13 people were also injured in the Csongrad-Csanad region.
The condition of two people is critical, he added.
Noting that many ambulances as well as helicopters were dispatched to the region, Gyorfi said the injured people were being transferred to hospitals.
The crash occurred when the minibus crossed over to the railway track despite the warning lights, the Hungarian State Railways (MAV) said in a statement.
