ISTANBUL (AA) - Turkey's benchmark stock index was up 1.10% to end Wednesday at 1,505.99 points -- all-time high close.
Starting the day at 1,501.61 points, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index earned 16.43 points over Tuesday's close of 1,489.56 points.
During the day, the index hovered between 1,497.09 and 1,508.64 points.
The total market value of the BIST 100 was around 1.12 trillion Turkish liras ($151.55 billion) by market close, with a daily trading volume of 12.23 billion Turkish liras ($1.66 billion).
On the third transaction day of the week, 63 stocks on the index rose, 32 fell, and five were unchanged compared to Tuesday.
The highest trading volumes were posted by private lender Garanti, petrochemical company Petkim and another private lender Akbank.
Borusan Mannesmann, manufacturer of welded steel and plastic pipes, was the best performer, with its shares up 10%, while stocks of venture capital firm Gozde dropped the most, losing 5.29%.
The price of one ounce of gold was $1,955.70 by market close, up from $1,942.55 at the previous close, according to data from Borsa Istanbul's Precious Metals and Diamond Markets.
The price of Brent crude oil was around $53.90 per barrel as of 6.15 p.m. local time (1515GMT) on Wednesday.
