A civilian helicopter crashed in the northern South Korean city of Pocheon on Tuesday, killing the pilot.

The helicopter crashed in the city's reservoir at 11:08 a.m. local time (0208 GMT), Yonhap news agency reported, citing officials.

After an hours-long search, rescuers discovered the pilot's body.

The helicopter is said to have crashed while conducting a forest fire prevention exercise, submerged in the reservoir, which is estimated to be 10-13 meters deep.
