ATHENS (AA) - Doctors Without Borders (MSF) said late Tuesday that an Israeli airstrike on Al-Ahli Baptist Hospital in Gaza was “a massacre.”

“We are horrified by the recent Israeli bombing of Ahli Arab Hospital in Gaza City, which was treating patients and hosting displaced Gazans. Hundreds of people have reportedly been killed,” the medical charity wrote on X.

“It is absolutely unacceptable” it added.

Meanwhile, the International Committee of Red Cross (ICRC) also slammed the attack.

Stressing that hospitals must be protected under international humanitarian law, it said "no patient should be killed in a hospital bed. No doctors should lose their lives
while trying to save others" on X.

More than 500 people were killed in an Israeli airstrike on the hospital, Health Ministry spokesman Ashraf al-Qudra told Anadolu.

Footage on social media showed bodies scattered across the hospital grounds.

Thousands of Palestinians were at the hospital when the building came under bombardment, according to an Anadolu reporter.
