BEIRUT (AA) - Lebanese group Hezbollah on Tuesday announced the death of three of its members in ongoing confrontations with Israeli forces in southern Lebanon.
In separate statements, the group identified those killed as Belal Aladdin, Abbas Naser and Hadi Mousa, saying that all three were killed "on the road to Jerusalem," referring to Hezbollah's armed support for Palestinian resistance groups fighting the Israeli army.
The new fatalities increased the number of Hezbollah fighters killed in clashes with Israeli forces to 336 since Oct. 8, 2023, according to an Anadolu tally.
The Israeli army earlier announced attacking military targets for the Hezbollah group in southern and eastern Lebanon.
Hezbollah also said one of its air defense units intercepted a hostile Israeli aircraft that violated Lebanese airspace at midnight. In another statement, the group said its fighters hit a gathering of Israeli soldiers near the northern Israeli settlement of Netua.
Tensions have risen along Lebanon's border with Israel amid cross-border attacks between Hezbollah and Israeli forces as Tel Aviv presses ahead with its deadly offensive on the Gaza Strip, which has killed more than 37,100 people since last October following a Hamas attack.
