RAMALLAH, Palestine (AA) – At least five Palestinians were killed on Sunday in an Israeli attack targeting a refugee camp in the occupied West Bank, Palestinian media reported.
The young men, age 22-33, were killed in an Israeli attack on the Nour Shams refugee camp in the city of Tulkarm, Palestine’s official news agency Wafa reported.
*The agency said that many Palestinians were killed and injured as a result of Israeli warplanes bombing a house where more than 50 displaced civilians took shelter in the Al-Zaytun neighborhood of Gaza City.*
*It was also reported that approximately 40 bodies were removed from another house in the Tuffah district of the city, which was targeted by Israeli airstrike, and many people escaped with injuries.*
*Many Palestinians were also killed and injured by an Israeli airstrike on the city’s al-Sahaba neighborhood.*
*The agency said that the number of Palestinians killed as a result of Israeli attacks throughout the day in the northern Gaza Strip reached 60.*
*Dozens of people were also injured by the bombing of a mosque in the Jabalia Refugee Camp in northern Gaza, according to the agency.*
*A total of 17 bodies were brought to Nasser Hospital in the southern city of Khan Younis in the last few hours, the agency added.*
In a separate attack, another Palestinian youth succumbed to his wounds as a result of an Israeli attack on the Jenin refugee camp in the West Bank.
Medical sources at Al-Razi Hospital in Jenin announced on Sunday that he died due to injuries he sustained during an Israeli attack on the eastern neighborhood of Jenin during a raid by Israeli forces of the city on Dec. 12, which lasted for three days, the agency also reported.
Tensions have been running high across the West Bank amid an Israeli military offensive on the Gaza Strip following a cross-border attack by Hamas on Oct. 7.
At least 296 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli forces and settlers in the West Bank since then, in addition to more than 3,430 others injured, according to the Palestinian Health Ministry.
