BERLIN (AA) - At least two people died and five people were wounded in a knife attack on a regional train traveling between the north German port city of Kiel and Hamburg, the daily Kieler Nachrichten reported Wednesday.
The Interior Minister of the Northern State of Schleswig Holstein Sabine Sutterlin-Waack confirmed that two people died on a train near Brokstedt, after a man assaulted the passengers.
The alleged perpetrator was arrested by the police at the train station in the town of Brokstedt.
The motives for the attack were not immediately known and railway traffic has been halted as a result of the incident, police said.
