TOKYO (AA) – A magnitude 5.4 earthquake shook Japan’s Tokyo area Monday night.
According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the temblor occurred 41.0 kilometers (25.5 miles) northeast of the capital at a depth of 37.5 kilometers.
The Japan Meteorological Agency registered the quake at a magnitude of 5.6, according to news broadcaster NHK, and no possibility of a tsunami was reported.
