AGRI, Turkey (AA) - PKK terrorists killed three migrants Monday and injured six others in the eastern Agri province, according to a military source.
Attackers opened fire on a minibus carrying migrants who had entered Turkey via an illegal route, according to the source who spoke on condition of anonymity due to restrictions on talking to the media.
Turkish gendarmerie detained six passengers but the driver and others in the vehicle managed to escape, the source said.
Authorities are conducting a search for the attackers and the remaining passengers as the injured, some critically, were taken to a hospital.
The PKK -- listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the U.S. and EU -- resumed its armed campaign against Turkey in July 2015. Since then, it has been responsible for the deaths of more than 1,200 Turkish security personnel and civilians.
