MOSCOW (AA) - Russian President Vladimir Putin on Tuesday signed a decree suspending agreements covering double taxation on income and assets with "unfriendly" countries.

The measure had been proposed by the finance and foreign ministries in March.

In a separate decree, Putin authorized using special bank accounts in rubles and in foreign currencies for payments for the export of the Russian agricultural products.

He also introduced a bill for parliament's consideration concerning the procedure for notifying the UN and the Council of Europe about the introduction or termination of a state of war or emergency in Russia. Details of the amendments were not provided.

Western countries have imposed economic sanctions on Russia in response to its "special military operation" in Ukraine.
