GAZA CITY, Palestine (AA) - Several bodies of Palestinians have been recovered on Friday from areas in the northern Gaza Strip after the Israeli army withdrew from the region.

Eyewitnesses told Anadolu that several bodies of Palestinians were recovered from the streets of the Jabalia camp and the Beit Lahia project area in the northern Gaza Strip after the withdrawal of Israeli forces.

The Israeli forces withdrew from the northern Gaza Strip on Friday revealing massive destruction of homes and infrastructure and the burning of dozens of residential buildings in the Jabalia camp, eyewitnesses added.

The Israeli army completely withdrew from the Jabalia camp area and its surroundings after an offensive that lasted 20 days, according to an Anadolu correspondent.

In the central Gaza Strip, medical sources at Al-Aqsa Hospital in the city of Deir al-Balah told Anadolu that at least eight Palestinians, including two children, were killed in an Israeli bombing that targeted a home for the Al-Sous family in the Bureij refugee camp.

They added that, in total, at least 14 Palestinians were killed in Israeli raids targeting civilian homes and cars in the central Gaza Strip.

Four Palestinians were also killed in an Israeli air strike that targeted a house for the Al-Hur family in the Bureij camp, according to the same sources.

They added that three members of the Darwish family were killed in an air strike that targeted a civilian vehicle in the Nuseirat refugee camp.

Another Palestinian was killed and several others were injured in a bombing that targeted a house for the Jahjouh family in the Nuseirat camp.

In the Central Governorate, Israeli vehicles launched a series of artillery raids and heavy gunfire targeted at eastern regions, while clashes were reported in the northern areas near the Nuseirat camp.

In Gaza City, several Palestinians were killed and injured due to airstrikes by Israeli warplanes on a residential building in the Al-Daraj neighborhood in the city center.

Others were wounded in an Israeli drone attack on a residential apartment belonging to the Minya family in the Al-Tuffah neighborhood, east of Gaza City, according to eyewitnesses.

Witnesses further reported that the warplanes resumed their intense airstrikes on the Zeitoun neighborhood, southeast of Gaza City.

In Khan Yunis, in the southern Gaza Strip, Israeli army vehicles unleashed a barrage of smoke bombs, artillery shells, and machine gun fire east of the new town of Abasan. No casualties were reported, according to eyewitnesses.

According to local sources, Israeli artillery and ground vehicles conducted intensive bombardments on the Tal al-Sultan neighborhood, located west of Rafah, in the southern Gaza Strip.

This resulted in numerous civilian injuries and prompted further displacement from the western regions, particularly after the army repeatedly targeted the tents of displaced Palestinians, they added.

Israel has continued its brutal offensive on Gaza since an attack by Hamas on Oct. 7, despite a UN Security Council resolution demanding an immediate cease-fire.

More than 36,200 Palestinians have since been killed in Gaza, the vast majority being women and children, and nearly 81,800 others injured, according to local health authorities.

Nearly eight months into the Israeli war, vast swathes of Gaza lay in ruins amid a crippling blockade of food, clean water, and medicine.

Israel stands accused of genocide at the International Court of Justice, which in its latest ruling ordered it to immediately halt its operation in Rafah, where over a million Palestinians had sought refuge from the war before it was invaded on May 6.
