KONYA/SAMSUN, Turkey (AA) - Turkish prosecutors in central Turkey issued arrest warrants Wednesday for 12 people for their suspected links to the Daesh terror group, according to a judicial source.
Anti-terror squads of police launched simultaneous operations across Konya province to nab the suspects. Seven suspects have been arrested so far.
It was also stated that the suspects were Syrian nationals who previously joined Daesh.
Separately, police in the Black Sea province of Samsun arrested four suspects -- Iraqi and Syrian nationals -- for their alleged links to the Daesh.
Digital documents were also confiscated during operations in Samsun.
More than 300 people have been killed in Daesh-claimed attacks in Turkey, where the terrorist group has targeted civilians in suicide bombings, rocket attacks, and gunfire. Turkish security forces have been engaged in a long-running campaign to thwart the Daesh threat.
