ISTANBUL (AA) - Turkey's benchmark stock index closed the day at 102,784.33 points on Thursday, dropping 0.70% from the previous close.
Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index started the day at 103,884.74 points. As of daily close, it lost 724.89 points from Wednesday's close of 103,509.22 points.
During Thursday's trading, the index's lowest level was 102,061.99 points and the highest was 104,767.54 points.
The total market value of the BIST 100 was around 687.7 billion Turkish liras ($120 billion) by market close, and the daily trading volume was 8.5 billion Turkish liras ($1.49 billion).
On the fourth transaction day of the week, 32 stocks on the index rose, 64 were down, and four were flat compared to Wednesday.
The top-listed companies by market value were Turkish conglomerate Koc Holding and private lenders Garanti and Akbank.
The highest trading volumes were posted by national flag carrier Turkish Airlines, Garanti, and state lender Halkbank.
Information technologies company Netas was the best performer on Thursday, with its shares up 12.54%, while stocks of automotive firm Dogus dropped the most, down 6.10%.
The price of one ounce of gold was around $1,500.40 by market close, up from $1,486.10 at the previous close, according to data from Borsa Istanbul's Precious Metals and Diamond Markets.
The price of Brent crude oil was around $57.20 per barrel as of 6 p.m. (1500GMT) on Thursday.
