ISTANBUL (AA) - Turkey's benchmark stock index closed the first day of the week at 1,530.27 points, down 0.76% day-on-day.
Starting Monday at 1,549.62 points, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index lost 11.71 points over Friday's close at 1,541.98 points.
During the day, the index hovered between 1,526.58 and 1,553.81 points – 30 stocks on the index rose, 67 fell, and three were flat compared to Friday's close.
The total market value of the BIST 100 was around 1.16 trillion Turkish liras ($150.1 billion) by market close, with a daily trading volume of 28.1 billion Turkish liras ($3.65 billion).
The highest trading volumes were posted by private lender Garanti BBVA, petrochemical firm Petkim, and gold miner Koza Altin.
Stocks of conglomerate Alarko Holding climbed the most with a 9.94% rise, while telecommunication systems integration provider Netas dropped the most, losing 4.30%.
The price of one ounce of gold was $1,693.00 by market close, down from $1,697.95 at the previous close, according to data from Borsa Istanbul's Precious Metals and Diamond Markets.
The price of Brent crude oil was around $68.40 per barrel as of 6.15 p.m. local time (1515GMT) on Monday.
