ISTANBUL (AA) - Turkey's benchmark stock index closed the week at 100,236.70 points on Friday, down 0.10% from the previous close.
Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index started the day at 100,641.10 points. As of weekly close, it lost 102.07 points from Thursday's close of 100,338.77 points.
During Friday's trading, the index's deepest level was 99,933.08 points and the highest one was 100,964.42 points.
The total market value of the BIST 100 was around 665.4 billion Turkish liras ($116.9 billion) by market close, and the daily trading volume was 8.6 billion Turkish liras ($1.5 billion).
On the last transaction day of the week, 38 stocks on the index rose, 55 were down, and seven were flat compared to Thursday.
The top-listed companies by market value were Turkish conglomerate Koc Holding and private lenders Garanti and Akbank.
The highest trading volumes were posted by national flag carrier Turkish Airlines, Garanti, and telecommunication giant Turk Telekom.
Cement producer Konya Cimento was the best performer on Friday, with its shares up 9.33%, while stocks of alcoholic beverage producer Anadolu Efes dropped most, down 6%
The price of one ounce of gold was around $1,503.00 by market close, up from $1,498.50 at the previous close, according to data from Borsa Istanbul's Precious Metals and Diamond Markets.
The price of Brent crude oil was around $64.60 per barrel as of 6 p.m. (1500GMT) on Friday.
