ANKARA (AA) - Turkey's benchmark stock index closed at 1,416.82 points on Tuesday, slightly up 0.04% from the previous close.
Starting the day at 1,409.42 points, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index gains 0.52 points from the previous close of 1,416.30 points.
The index’s lowest value during the day was 1,408.01 points, while its daily high was 1,423.02 points.
The total market value of the BIST 100 was around 1.1 trillion Turkish liras ($124 billion) by market close, with a daily trading volume of 16.1 billion Turkish liras ($1.8 billion).
Shares of machinery company Cemtas performed the best, up 7.72%, while stocks of real estate investment trust ISGYO dropped the most, 6.86%.
The highest trading volumes were posted by the flagship carrier Turkish Airlines, private lender Garanti BBVA and defense company Aselsan.
The price of Brent crude oil climbed to $83.86 per barrel as of 6.13 p.m. local time (1513GMT).
The price of one ounce of gold was $1,754.10 by market close.

The Industrial production in Turkey improved by 5.4% month-on-month in August and 13.8% annually, the country's official statistical department said on Tuesday.
The International Monetary Fund (IMF) raised the growth forecast for the Turkish economy to 9% from 5.8% for 2021, while it kept the projection at 3.3% for next year.
