ISTANBUL (AA) - Turkey's benchmark stock index jumped 3.24% to close Thursday at 90,011.62 points.
Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index started the day at 88,032.19 points, up 2,825.32 points from Wednesday's close of 87,186.30 points.
The benchmark index hovered between 88,032.19 and 90,011.62 points during Thursday's trading.
The total market value of the BIST 100 was around 596.6 billion Turkish liras ($99.2 billion) by market close, and the daily trading volume was 6.55 billion Turkish liras ($1.11 billion).
On the fourth transaction day of the week, 91 stocks on the index posted rises, six were down, and three were flat compared to the previous close.
The top-listed companies by market value were Turkish conglomerate Koc Holding, private lender Garanti, and oil refinery giant Tupras.
The highest trading volumes were posted by Garanti, national flag carrier Turkish Airlines, and private lender Akbank.
Private lender ICBC Turkey Bank was the top gainer, with its shares up 15.47%, while shares of conglomerate Ittifak Holding fell the most, down 1.94%.
In Borsa Istanbul's Precious Metals and Diamond Markets, the price of one ounce of gold was around $1,281.00 by market close, down from $1,285.10 the previous day.
The price of Brent crude oil was around $67.30 per barrel as of 6 p.m. (1500GMT) Thursday.
